WELCOME TO YOUR INTRO INTO BRUSHES

Welcome to your intro into Brushes. Brushes like all tools for an artist, are best chosen through discovery, to suit your own artistic wants and needs!

Experiment with brushes and know that one is rarely, if ever! Designed for one thing alone! They are going to be an extension of your hands and are there to make your life easier and your work beyond fabulous! They are your little friends, there to help you!

Use your intuition and experiment. You will get to a point in your makeup/s where you are running low on brushes and have to adapt, it is times like these we find new little gems that surprise us with their potential!

Make them work for you as opposed to the other way around!

We can get very caught up in trends and products that we can lose sight of our own visions and can forget to let our own mind/ heart and intuition lead. This is where you will come in to your own as a Makeup Artist. So please don’t get caught up in what a brush ‘is for’ but rather what you want it to do and what you can see that it can do.

When you think one does it amazing, there could be one around the corner that does it EVEN better! DON’T BE AFRAID TO EXPLORE. We can blindly go about things and form habits. You may want a perfect cut crease and have used a pencil brush all this time and it’s been great, but then someone shows you an even smaller version of that and your work now is able to be slightly more technical, and takes on new dimensions.

Really think about what you want to happen. If you think of how intricate the eye area is, how big the cheek is, is there something better suited? How big is the area you are working on? Do you really need a large brush? Will a tapered edge be better for you than a rounded one? Will a softer edge work more effectively?
