VISUALIZATION AND UNDERSTANDING

Visualization is everything. If you picture something going well, invariably it will, so if confidence is low on a particular day, visualize the make up, how you want to be, good energy, the perfect end result. This is often why working from an image you love can give you a great result; you are filled with inspiration, excited and keen, believing you’re going to do a great job.

Images can be a great way of learning about tools and products. Have a look at photographs that inspire you and recreate them in your mind, think of what brushes you would do that particular look with, and even play with the idea of how many different brushes you could use, to achieve one eye look for example.

Watch makeup tutorials to see what others are using, compare and contrast and see what is out there, there are new brushes out all the time and expensive isn’t always the best! In a brush set of 5 top brand brushes, YOU might only like 1/2. And that’s ok. Where possible (such as on the course, or via a friend) sample other brushes as judging them on look alone can only take you so far.
